In the next 5-10 years, the application of Industry 4.0 technology will help manufacturing companies increase their production efficiency by 15%-25%. Even if the cost of raw materials is added, the overall productivity will increase by 5 to 8 percentage points, and an additional 6 trillion yuan will be created. Added value.

The Boston Consulting Group made the above statement in the "Industry 4.0 Future Productivity and Manufacturing Industry Development Prospects" report released on May 17. This report uses the German manufacturing industry as the research object and predicts that the output value of the German manufacturing industry will increase by 90 to 150 billion euros due to Industry 4.0.

The report defines Industry 4.0 as a transformation based on smart integrated sensing control systems (CPS) and dynamic data processing, based on 9 digital industrial technologies, and its core concepts are integration, automation and optimization of production processes. The report believes that in the next 5-10 years, Industry 4.0 will revolutionize the design, manufacturing, operation and service processes of products and production systems.

At present, China, Europe and the United States are vigorously promoting Industry 4.0 technologies, including automated robots, additive manufacturing (3D printing, etc.), augmented reality (VR technology), simulation, horizontal and vertical system integration, industrial Internet of Things, cloud computing, and networking Nine major technologies, including security and big data analysis, are promoting the transformation of industrial production.

Industry 4.0 technology has already exerted its value in many fields such as aviation, automobile, medical treatment, and electric power. For example, in the aircraft industry, 3D printing technology is applied to the production of aircraft parts, reducing the weight of the aircraft while saving the use of rare raw materials such as titanium. The welding and other links in the automotive field have also been replaced by robots. In the future, the automotive manufacturing process will be monitored by an automatic work control system.

In China, in March 2015, Premier Li Keqiang officially included the "Internet" strategy in the government work report; in May of the same year, the State Council issued the "Made in China 2025" plan, calling on Chinese companies and industries to learn about the industrial Internet and apply it to China's smart industry under construction. These two strategic plans are regarded as the Chinese version of "Industry 4.0."
